WHALE SHARK
Tools: Blender - Modelling, PBR Texturing, Rendering, Photoshop - Editing

Creating the Piece: So this piece was intended to be in a whale-shark eco-friendly themed cook book. The idea was for the piece to be an underwater setting. I decided to go with something photo-realistic, but completely digitally created. To fit the theme, I decided to create objects to render that would appear as something created out of recycled materials such as paper and cardboard. The lightbulb on the other hand was placed there to represent a sun and something to light up the piece.
In creating the lightbulb, I used some references found in google images, and modelled it in Blender. The glass, metal, cardboard, plastic string, neon rod, and texture for the rock was all procedurally generated using Blender's built-in texture nodes, while for the whale shark and coral plants, I hand-painted within the software. Adjusting the camera angle so to fit the rule-of-thirds, I rendered the scene and then for the final edits I used Photoshop.
